It represents a simple system for the production of plankton, a fundamental element of the natural food chain. Inside the reactor, microalgae are cultivated using light, fertilizers, and the carbon dioxide content in the air. Phytoplankton can be used to directly feed many filter-feeding invertebrates or for zooplankton reproduction. The integrated 10 W LED light provides sufficient light for good cultivation. If nutrient content is sufficient, algae biomass can quadruple in 24 hours. The plankton light reactor II is equipped with two connections for the simultaneous supply of air and CO2. If there is a strong demand for plankton, CO2 can be force-fed. The lid is provided with a cap for pH electrode preparation.
